Description:Peru is the largest exporter of Organic coffee in the world! Much of this coffee comes from the Cajamarca Department. Many coffee growers in the area each have small farms averaging 2-3 hectares which drives to need to be part of a larger cooperative. Most growers pick their own cherries and have their own on-site wet mill which allows coffee to be processed incredibly fresh.
The Cajamarca department is in Northern Peru with heights as much as 2,700 meters above sea level in the Andes Mountain Range. Cajamarca borders Ecuador in the North and has a very stunning landscape that includes the largest mountain range in the world running through the department as well as part of the largest rainforest in the world; the Amazon!
