Description: Finca Pojoptetac, owned and operated by Walter Francisco Garciá, has been in the Garcia Family for generations. The name of this farm comes from Don Walter’s native tongue, “Chuj Coataneco”. Pojoptetac is a word used to reference a virgin forest, one that has been unaffected by human intervention, it’s a symbol of strength and power. This 6 hectare farm isn’t the largest, but it is able to produce 88 bags annually, and support 10 permanent employees. When you enter the farm, you hear the powerful sound of mountain streams. The water here in the middle of the Huehuetenango highlands is crystal clear, allowing Don Walter and the surrounding community an excellent natural water source for producing specialty coffee. This farm delivers to our export and milling partner, Dinamica, who have given special recognition tot he farm for their strict implementation of quality practices. This comes as no surprise, after having tasted the coffee. On the table, it reminded us of a Kenya with is brightness and how clean the cup is. We are stoked on this one, we get bright fruity flavors of Pink Grapefruit and Stone Fruit, with a slight Florality, and a finish of sweet Honey.
