Description: The Finca Cartagena estate is located at the San Salvador Volcano, nestled on the Bálsamo- Quetzaltepec coffee region, in the municipality of Quetzaltepeque, Department of La Libertad. The farm was bought few years ago by Joaquin Palomo, a coffee grower with only a few decades of coffee growing tradition but many years in agriculture. Joaquin is an agricultural economist and respected businessman, with a long-term vision of creating sustainable farms by growing high quality coffees and keeping immaculate farms.
The farm is impeccably worked with emphasis on renovation and application of new techniques and technologies. Joaquin is involved in his community by supporting the local school with supplies and meals, and also employs with permanent jobs at least 10 workers and 120 temporary more workers during the season.
This particular lot was carefully selected from high scoring day-lots from an Anacafe variety plot at the peak of the harvest and the sun dried as a natural. This coffee has a super clean cup profile with fruity notes of Lemon, Golden Raisin, and the sweetness of Brown Sugar.
