Description:Finca Santa Maria, established in 1892 by Rafael Alvarez, has been in the Alvarez family for nearly 130 years. Now managed by Eduardo Alvarez, the farm thrives in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec biosphere, home to Central America’s oldest volcano and over 9,000 acres of nature reserve. Its rich biodiversity provides natural shade for the coffee. This lot features Orange Bourbon, a natural mutation of Red Bourbon known for its bright citrus acidity. After harvest, the beans were sun-dried on raised beds for 23 days, showcasing the region’s ideal conditions for specialty coffee production.
