I have roasted this before and it’s very good.
Bean is super consistent and versatile with a great flavor. We use for cold brew and drip and occasionally even as espresso. Takes heat really well.
Delivery is always really quick. Outer boxes are sometimes beat to hell, but I’ve never had a broken bag or spilled beans.
This is our favorite all-around bean. It offers rich rounded flavors with just the right amount of acidity. It can hold up to a dark roast yet still shine in a lighter roast. We always keep this in stock.
I tried the new Topazio varietal (Rancho Grande), and it made me realize how much I like the Ipe. It is lovely in prep and very versatile as to roast level (C+ toward FC to Viennese are all good). I roast this coffee to FC+ (Through 2nd crack) most of the time for a friend who is after dark roast chocolate bombs. When blended with a chocolaty Mexican or Guatemalan, it makes a most hearty and satisfying french press or cold brew. It gets 5 stars because it is also a great value.
