Description: Antioquia is the largest coffee producing region in Colombia.
There are 90,000 registered coffee growers in this department, situated
in an area of 125,000 hectares.
Antioquia Medellin Supremo from this specific lot has been coffee
produced by smallholders on the steep slopes of Southwest Antioquia
region. (Suroeste Antioqueño). These small farms range between from 1
to 4 hectares.
The harvest starts in October and usually lasts until April. The red
cherries are carefully harvested, and wet processed by the producer at
the farms “beneficio” and carefully sun-dried.
The coffee has been milled and graded thoroughly by one of the leading
mills in Ciudad Bolivar. After milling, the green beans are carefully sorted by women who remove the defects which were not sorted out by the electronic sorting machines.
