Description: The Hambela Washing Station was established in 2016, located in one of the highest altitude areas on Guji Zone Uraga district. About 800-1000 producers supply coffee cherries to this washing station, growing in about a 5km radius of the station. Hambela provides price premiums and credit services for farmers, incentivizing growers to ensure they receive high quality cherries. Also the company provides training to farmers that enhance the quality and productivity of coffee. The average farm size in this area is 2 hectare and most of the coffee is grown in garden plots that also produce other crops.
We brought in washed and natural lots from this station, and they arrived tasty as could be. In this washed lot, we get notes of Toffee, Apricot, Butterscotch, and Lime.
