Description: This region is located inside Guji Zone of Oromia regional state of Ethiopia. Coffee farmers in Guji are small-scale landholders, but often have larger acres of land comparing to other coffee growers in the country. Farmers in this area have coffee trees at elevations ranging from 1,945 - 2,000 meters above sea level. Farmers speak mainly Afaan Oromo and Amharic languages.

What makes the process successful is the attention given to the details in the process from the day the cherry is picked from the tree until it arrives to the warehouse. In harvesting time, only fully matured coffee cherries are processed. The fully ripe cherries will be taken to the drying bed within 8 hours of picking. 

Coffee traditionally grows in the understory of indigenous trees and canopies in Guji, intercropped with false banana and other crops. It has been growing for centuries in ecologically sound and conducive environment in the midst of a wide range of biodiversity in perfect harmony.

Develops a richer flavor

It took about three days of waiting after roasting for this coffee to develop a rich flavor. I was worried after waiting 24 hours that it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. However, I’m very happy with the deep, slightly sweet flavor and aroma it has.

Another GREAT bean from Bodhi Leaf

First, thank you for saving my previous review! The Ethopian names are a bit difficult to dechiper and they change slightly, hard to keep them straight. So seeing my review last year was extremely helpful. Last year I said this was great. Since then, I've bought another 5 lbs; then 10 lbs, today, another 5 lbs. We do about 1 1/4 lbs per week. Medium roast; makes great straight espresso and also fantastic drip too. I did and have bought other beans, but having a known consistant quality bean is extremely useful. Sincerely hope this helps someone.

Awesome Beans; Worth the Price

An excellent offering. The jasmine and berry are superb and easy to pick-up in the cup. I roasted these in Behmor with no issue. Used the following profile on my 1600+: preheat to 275, double-drum, Manual P5 mode until first crack, drop to P3. Tastes delicious and can’t wait to drink more

Heirloom beans at their best

If you are a fan of the Ethiopian heirloom bean flavor, Sidama Ardi is for you. I went with Full City (average), pan roasted. Currently sipping nearly three day old, tepid coffee and it tastes wonderful thanks to the distinctive heirloom bean taste. Sidama Ardi is definitely a top-tier Ethiopian coffee bean!
