Description: Along foothills of South Mount Kenya, lies the region of Nyeri which is especially known for producing outstanding quality coffees. This Karindundu washing station is located in the Nyeri district where 513 active members are delivering coffees to this washing station. Upon picking red cherries, farmers deliver them to Karindundu washing station to have the coffees depulped, fermented overnight then washed in channels. Parchments are then placed on raised beds and regularly raked to ensure even drying.
We can’t get enough of this one! We visited Karindundu a couple of years back, but haven’t had the opportunity to bring in coffee from this factory until now.
