Description: Bourbon Pointu, botanical name var. Laurina, is a rare variety of arabica that is a  natural mutation of the famous Bourbon variety from Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean. The Bourbon Pointu is famous for its natural low levels of caffeine, bean shape (small and tending to be pointed at the ends, hence “pointu”), and pungently fruit-toned, Bourbon-like cup.

La Escondida is owned by the Mierisch Family and managed byJose Elias Contreras. Located in the Jinotega Department, the farm is 100 hactares of coffee and grows Laurina, Javanica, Yellow Pacamara, Red Catuai, and Bourbon varietals. The farm has its own wet mill where coffees are dried using washed, pulped natural, or natural processes. The Mierisch family have a reputation of producing some of the best coffees in Nicaragua with multiple Cup of Excellence awards throughout the years.

We get our beans from the farms and roast coffee daily. We truly are farm to cup.
