Description: Sumatra coffees are known for their processing method. Rather than washed or natural, these beans go through a semi-washed, or wet-hulled process that is a combination of the prior two. After the coffee has been picked, it is pulped through a hand-cranked drum that removes almost all of the fruit and mucilage from the bean. After fermentation, the rest of the pulp is washed from the beans.

Small bean hard roast great taste!

Had a bummer of a roast where the beans didn't crack uniformly. Sounded like only 15% of them cracked. Beans are peaberry and small so few got stuck in the Behmor AB drum mesh. All in all I took it to slight med roast and ended up tasting very, very good! Second time roasting 1st crack was drawn out sporadic but much better. Very tasty cup.

Rolls Royce of Sumatras

Not usually a big fan of Sumatras but saved 4 cups of this post-roast and fully appreciated that this wasn’t hype; as the saying goes: “try it, you’ll like it”!
If one respects nothing then one must respect the labor that goes into the process of hand separation of Peaberries

Pea body Sumatra

I love Sumatra and saw this description flavor profile and with the discount code I bought 20lbs. I’m still making Heat adjustments to my roast because the size of the bean means my first crack happens earlier than expected. One of my friends who I roasted these beans for said’ “the stuff Dreams are made of!” I guess that could be the case? I love a lighter roast but know Sumatra is best at Full City+. I’m still dialing in what might be the best roast Profile so any other reviews might be helpful.
