Description: Founded in 2019, this farm in Ethiopia’s Gesha region is lesser-known than Yirgacheffe or Guji, yet it produces some of the world’s most celebrated varieties. Gesha 1931 is acclaimed globally for cup quality, while its sibling, Gori Gesha—originating in the nearby Gori Gesha Forest—rivals it as one of the oldest and most prized varieties.

Owned and operated by our export partner, the farm has full control over picking and processing, producing everything from anaerobic and carbonic maceration to classic naturals. This traditional natural was dried on raised beds & thanks to Gesha’s warmer climate, naturals here dry more evenly and cleanly than in cooler regions like Bensa.

The result is a vibrant, elegant cup with notes of orange blossom, fresh orange acidity, caramel sweetness, and raspberry. We hope you enjoy this lot as much as we do and look forward to sharing more from Gori Gesha Forest in future harvests.

Love this coffee!!! Super Duper crema!

Love the balanced taste. Roasted medium for espresso. Well balanced and delicious. Saw another review of 1 star claiming this varietal and or region info is misleading? Well, true or not, I like this coffee and it's a great value. Will be buying more.

NOT GORIGESHA FOREST

Dear BODHILEAF,

Whether it is Grade 3 coffee from the markets of gesha or Gesha from Gesha Village, this isn't the Gorigesha forest's gift to the world. Only a lowland varietal of coffee. It would be honorable of you not to use our name 'Gorigesha Forest' without being in the proximity of the Gori mountain range at all. If you are sourcing from a farm parallel to Gori, in the area of "Karmach", please disclose your actual altitudes and true information. You may fool clients today, but google maps does show the total available land in the altitudes you have mentioned which is nowhere near enough to have any form of 'stock-able' yield of gesha in that altitude.

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.” Abraham Lincoln.

It is out of stock for the foreseeable future though.

Delicate, exotic tea-like coffee

I roasted this to full city roast. Resting it for a week and longer seems to mellow out the fruity flavors to be really enjoyable. It has somewhat bright acidity so ground it coarsely and filter-dripped with 85 C water and the taste was great. It has floral and fruity notes with a tiny bit of citrusy taste yet subtle roundness and sweetness. I felt like I was drinking some expensive tea or something. This bean might be great for someone looking for exotic, off-the-beaten-path coffee experience.
